    Hotspot VM error during login

    Eric Newbie

      Hi,

      I've found that occasionally when a client logs into JBoss and attempts to authenticate with JAAS, Hotspot finds the need to shut itself down with the following message:

      Unexpected Signal : 11 occurred at PC=0x405B4B6C
      Function=inflate__18ObjectSynchronizerP7oopDesc+0x11C
      Library=/usr/local/j2sdk1.4.1_01/jre/lib/i386/server/libjvm.so

      I'm using Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.1_01-b01, mixed mode) on Linux. The problem does not occur every time. I'm plugging in my own login module, and have deployed the class files in the server/default/lib directory. These same class files are used in my main application.

      Has anyone else had this problem? It unfortunately makes it very difficult to run JBoss in production. Any suggestions for how to fix this? I'm aware of some other ClassLoader issues (ClassCircularity, ClassLinkage errors) that are known. Could this be related?

      Thanks,
      Eric
