Session persistent after server restart

We have an Application Running on JBOSS & Weblogic. We are using JAAS for authentication.

After the user successfully logs in the site , we restart the server & we try to continue from the same browser and the user is able to continue his operations without logging in again i.e. the session is still active even after the server was restarted.

Has anyone faced a similar problem ? This problem does not persist with Weblogic.

I think the session is to do with the brwoser not the server. so it ends with its closure
