specifying number of message beans created at startup

Hello,

I'm using JBoss3.0/Tomcat download of Jboss. How and where exactly do i specify the number of message beans bean i want instantiated at startup. I've tried changing a few things already but it doesn't seem to be making any difference.
I would really appreciate someones help with this.

The pool is lazily constructed.
No bean instances are created until they required.

There was a pool filler in earlier versions of jboss-3.0.x but it
didn't work very well and broke other things. It was removed.
