There are two deployment descriptors related to scheduling
- scheduler-manager-service.xml
- scheduler-service.xml

1) Are there reasons to prefer one approach?
2) Is one of them deprecated?

The JBossBook_322 docu only describes org.jboss.varia.scheduler.Scheduler which is used in scheduler-service.xml
