URGENT: Log4j doesn't work under JBoss 3.0 final

My web application uses log4j for logging, a servlet initializes log4j on startup, it uses a basic configuration to print log to the console. I tried it under weblogic, it works fine, but when I try to deploy it under Jboss, it says "ERROR: invalid console appender config detected, console stream is looping", and no logging messages will appear.

Please help me, thanks in advance.

Do something so your servlet does not try to set up log4j when running in jboss, and configure your logging in jboss' log4j.xml

Could you tell me how to determine whether the web app is running under jboss or not?
