    Starting JBoss

    respinola

I have JBoss installed on a remote server. Is there any difference in whether I start JBoss as ROOT or as a normal user (non-ROOT)?

      Thanks

          See my post above.

In order to have a process access a guarded port, it is necessary to start the jboss server (with embedded http server like tomcat or jetty) with root access, or with something that emulates root access for another user on the system. I suggest that you monitor my thread to get an answer to your question.
