15. Re: What is HTTPInvoker for? Can it be used to access EJBs o
mikesu Aug 14, 2003 2:23 AM (in response to mikesu)In general you need only to configure server side. It's up to server to send you home object proxy, and it would know where to connect.
Server must know 'REAL' ip number, from client's point of view. (At list I think so). -

taiwuco Aug 14, 2003 3:39 AM (in response to mikesu)Hello Mike,
Thank you. I solved the problem already. I made some mistakes. Jon helped me figure out.
Regarding the performance, I may suggest RMI+SSL which has minimal performance hit. I am going to do so.
Best Regards,

mikesu Aug 14, 2003 5:14 AM (in response to mikesu)My goal was to be able to work through the proxy servers (it's pretty common to have not only firewall but also http proxy server to be the only way outside)

18. HttpInvoker with stateful session bean
jarikr Aug 26, 2003 2:33 AM (in response to mikesu)Hi,
I'm running JBoss 3.2.1, and tried to use HTTP-Tunneling just as you did. It seems to work fine with stateless session beans, but not with stateful beans. It can be created, but as soon as I want to excute a methods, I get an java.lang.StackOverflowError.
I configured the invoker-proxy-binding, too with the difference that I use
org.jboss.proxy.ejb.StatefulSessionInterceptor
Has anyone encountered the same problem?
thanks in advance,
Jari -
19. Re: HttpInvoker with stateful session bean
jarikr Aug 26, 2003 3:59 AM (in response to mikesu)Problem solved. I'm sorry, the source of the error wasn't the HttpInvoker - it works fine now. I only made the mistake to do two things in one step.. i added the log statement "log.debug( getName() )" instead of log.debug( "getName()" ) into the stateful bean. Thus a recursive method call was causing the StackOverflow. At least it is not possible to execute any code on the computer because of that ;-).
