    PROBLEM: JBoss 3.2.3 + Java SDK 1.3.0 + Tru64 UNIX

    nixie Newbie

      Hi all.

I have unpacked JBoss 3.2.3 and I'm trying to run it on my Alpha, I get errors. The configuration is:

      - DEC AlphaStation 200 4/233 128 MB RAM
      - Tru64 UNIX 4.0D + SP9 (latest)
      - Java SDK DEC/Compaq 1.3.0-1

What I get when trying to run JBoss is:

12:06:37,929 INFO [Server] Starting JBoss (MX MicroKernel)...
12:06:38,023 INFO [Server] Release ID: JBoss [WonderLand] 3.2.3 (build: CVSTag=JBoss_3_2_3 date=200311301445)

      at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:484)

I have then zipped the whole JBoss dir and transfered it to my PC workstation:

      - PC Celeron 350 MHz 256 MB RAM
      - Windows NT
      - Java SDK 1.4.0 Sun

and it works like a charm.

Now, I know that my Alpha platform is old, but JVM 1.3.0 should be able to run JBoss.

That error has lead me to believe that there is some package missing. I mean "java.lang.AbstractMethodError" could be due to missing implementation of some standard API. As Java versions progress, more and more APIs are becoming a part of standard distribution (XML, for instance).

Could someone give me a hint what that package may be? Or how to find out myself?
