I am testing JBoss to evaluate it for my organisation.
I have had a very successful initial trial when running it from my XP machine which is attached to the network.
However it was decided that we should now try it on a Linux server as a better test environment. The installation went perfectly OK and the initial test running the system with the default installation works OK.
However when I try to start the "all" installation the system reports the following error
Failed to Start AutoMatic Discovery
java.net.SocketException bad arguement IP_MULTICAST_IF address not bound
Has anybody come accross this before and more importantly knows what the problem is
I got the same problem.
There are truobles in binding the ANY_ADDR 0.0.0.0 to multicast socket when in the kernel the ipv6 is active.
If you disable ipv6 from kernel the binding of multicast is ok and the services related to 'all' configuration runs smooth.
