common webapplication and class sharing

Hi
is it possible to designate a web application as common to all web applications running on the jboss server possibly using tomcat that shares classes with any other hot deployed war/web application? looked at the ROOT.war but hooking into it is causing some failures etc.. so want to see if I can have a war of my own to do this..

Any thoughts?

you can achieve this by turning to Jboss classloading scheme on the tomcat jboss-service.xml and having a root war for yourself that gets loaded first say by naming it in such a way (using the default URLdeployer scheme) that it gets loaded first.
