Autodiscovery is a different story, it doesnt use JGroups.

I don't know why but without remotes I would get the same "'Deployed as CLUSTERED but not a single clustered-invoker is bound to container" error.
Try adding remotes and remote homes to your entities (if they don't already have them) and redeploy and they should start working as if by magic.
