Jboss multiple nodes on same machine

Hi,

I am new to Jboss clustering. As for starting point, I am trying to setup Jboss clustered nodes on the same machine. Later, we will replicate it to multiple boxes.

Can anyone give me directions in this regard? I looked into the Jboss clustering documentation, but there was no mentioning of how set it up on single box particularly. The main problem for now I am facing is the port conflicts. I will resolve them, but will it affect services trying to communicate with eachother? Are there any other do's and dont's you guys want to share from your experiences?

Just an FYI, I am using Red Hat enterprise OS.

I am going make also two jBoss/JVM instance of a cluster on same machine. I just worry the multi-cast port / Javagroup got messed up. Any que? Thanks!

No, this works. I use the BindingService on node-2, and it works perfectly.

bela: No, it DOS'nt. If I have a box with one NIC to the World with changing IP which has nothing to do with JBoss, and two NICs for redundant failover scrpting - way like the good old Veritas Cluster are doing things - I am not able to forecast the NICs (!) over which the Cluster will talk, not only the UDP thred - the MQ and some other "localhost-related" sevices too.

That there are two boxes which are running, fine. I have here meanwhile four, which doesn't. I know, it's me.

To make JGroups bind to a specific NIC, use the bind_addr parameter to the JGroups configuration in cluster-service.xml for now.
