is there any body to help?
ist it poosible to set up a jboss cluster including two instances on the same machine with the same ip on diffents ports?
Read http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=ConfiguringMultipleJBossInstancesOnOneMachine under the section of ' When I try to launch multiple instances I get port conflicts'.
i tried the proposed solution it start well but the clustering doesnt work properly. the client doesnt failover to the other instance in the cluster
there is a warning not to used the proposed solution.
If the servers are starting fine but clustering isn't working as expected, first thing to do is make sure the nodes are clustering properly. If they aren't it is likely due to something other than use of ServiceBindingManager. See the first entry in the Troubleshooting section on http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JGroups, particularly the second link, for helping to check that multicast is working properly,
Re: the warning on the wiki, yeah, using the ServiceBindingManager is not the recommended solution as it's quite a bit more complex than the fairly simple alternative of assigning more than one IP to the machine and using -b.
