IBM's marketshare in the app server market rose to 37% and BEA dropped to 29% according to Gartner. I'm not quite sure what they class as the market, saying that Sun ONE was a distant third at 5%, with Sybase next at 2%. It just doesn't seem to bear out making up the remaining 27% with odds and ends in the app server market. JBoss does get a mention as an open-source alternative.
