Jboss jdbc local resource adapter

Hello,

I am using jboss 3.2.5 and was planning to use the jdbc local resource adapter to make CCI calls to update the database. But as I look into the adapter including some if its source code, it seems that it does not implement the CCI. Is this impression correct?

If yes, it probably means that to satisfy my goal of testing CCI calls with a simple EIS (like a database), I probably have to install the Firebird database and use its adapter (which I am assuming implements CCI - I have yet to look into it).

JBoss's jdbc resource adapters do NOT implement CCI

Thanks for your reply Adrian. Even the Firebird resource adapter does not seem to implement the CCI.

I can guess the reason - because JDBC is already a standard, it may not make sense to implement CCI on top of that. However, taking advantage of the J2EE pooling facilities and using them alongwith JDBC makes sense and that is probably what the JDBC-JCA local resource adapter seeks to achieve.
