I intend to develop a java based and component oriented multi user dungeon (MUD) system. I would like to use features from the J2EE with JBoss such as clustering and ressource pooling, but do not want to use EJB.
Given this, do you think, that it would be a good idea to develop a container that works on the same level as the EJB- and Web-Container?
Is it possible with the current architecture of JBoss / how easy is it to let JBoss provide it's low level services to another container?
Thanks for your help!
Not knowing the details of your design, I would say yes you can do that. They don't call JBoss a super server (that is, create your own server) for nothing.
