      .
      JBOSS_HOME: c:\jboss
      .
      JAVA: c:\jdk1.3.1_03\bin\java
      .
      JAVA_OPTS: -Dprogram.name=run.bat
      .

What version? Just for kicks I would try downloading 3.2.1, unzipping it to another dir, then use the run.bat. I have had no problem starting mine from any version by just unzipping it and running the run.bat file. I have done so on Win2K and XP as well.

What version of JB? Also you could try it with jdk1.4.x.

I am currently using 3.2.1. The only other thing I set is the JBOSS_DIST variable in the run.bat to my JBOSS directory.

Also I downloaded the version which includes the TOMCAT server instead of the Jboss WebServer. Do I have to change anything else?

What are the steps just to get it running?
              1. Download
              2. execute run.bat?

It seems so simple! :) I can't believe I can't even get it started.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
