Remote access problem

I have a session bean test application that works fine when it is run on the same server as JBoss but when i run it on another server I get a time out on the context.lookup

I have read a lot of documentation but all that has done is convinced me that I am lost.

The JBoss install is 'out of the box' I have made no configuration changes.

All machines are Windows XP.

Did you modify your jndi.properties to connect to your other server (rather than localhost) ?

I am thinking that it is either a JNDI problem or to do with proxy.

I have not edited jndi.properties as I have been unable to find the required info.

The are only 2 lines in the file:
java.naming.factory.initial=org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory
java.naming.factory.url.pkgs=org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces

Try adding a

java.naming.provider.url=jnp://:1099
to jndi.properties
