JBoss for Development - Which version?

Hi,

We are starting development on a new project.

The client wants to use Websphere 5.1 in Production.

We have decided to use JBoss for development. The application will then be deployed to Websphere.

Which version of JBoss should we use?
Would 4.0 be be compatible with Websphere 5.1?

You should use the latest JBoss 4.0.x version for development. This has been certified as J2EE 1.4 compliant. Be aware however, that WebSphere 5.1 is not J2EE 1.4 certified so you will be backporting to an outdated platform, which may cause issues.
