Hi. I hate these types of messages, but here it goes...
I'd like to find out any information anyone has about this also. I'm just starting to set up my environment on my Powerbook.
I have Eclipse 3.1 and Java 5.0. What else do I need?
you will need @ least the JBoss Server with EJB3 Support. So you might want to download the JBoss 4.0.3 RC 1 installer.
For your convinience you might want to get also the JBossIDE ...
and install it on your eclipse 3.1
For the tryout purposes, you can also use the examples delivered in the EJB3.0 Beta Package - Tutorial
For your own projedt I would recoment you to look into some tutorials @ least. For example the Trailblazer or something. You also might want to install a DBMS. For OS X there is MySQL and also PostgreSQL (via fink) available, as OpenSource.
But as you a real begginer, you ain't really qualified to answer the question I had.
Maybe I should have wrote into EJB3 - Design or so. But I hate to crosspost now.
So there is still the same Question. Anybody with experience on OS X / JBoss / EJB 3 - combination ?
Well, I got everything running. But I don't know how to use the JBoss IDE. I guess I will go through the tutorials.
Anyone have any pointers to tutorials?
You can download the binary for the trailblazer tutorial.
It has a flash presentation that seems to take a lot of cycles on my PB.
So far I am doing pretty well with EJB3 and AS 4.0.3RC1 (although a new release of EJB3 is out and there is supposed to be a AS 4.0.3RC2 but I can not find it - I send a note to Gavin).
Now I have to find more information about myfaces - it is bundled with JBoss AS 4. I have an application working - well almost.
Oh yea, almost forgot - you can drop the Trailblazer demo into the deploy directory and view it locally.
