I'm reviving this post, as I still don't have a solution:
Does anyone know how to configure jboss-3.2.5 to work with JCharset?
Did you ever resolve this? I'm trying to do the same with JBoss 4.0.3SP1, and to date have not been successful.
I'm running Mac OSX, JBosss 4.0.3SP1, and Java 1.5.0 on my development machine.
Placing the jcharset.jar in the following directory WORKS:
This is a great library - it automatically decodes UTF-7 variants, K018-U and K018-RU, and a host of others. Great job! It's going to save me a ton of time.
First - thanks for your reply.

Sun have a problem with their JVM class loader. So in a perfect world we wouldn't need to bother finding the correct path - it should've been in the JBoss classpath :-)
Anyway - I'm still searching for the correct location (under Linux, Solaris and Windows OS), but thank you very much for your reply.
I found the location that works for Windows XP. This is the location of the java.ext.dirs. It is verified on my local machine (Windows XP), and I think this should work for other OS as well.
