Flexible Expiration Times

Is there some way to set expiration times per node? From what I read it looks like the only way to set expiration times are on the entire cache at once.

I saw that there is a NodeEntry class which will tell you the modification time but I don't know if I can get that representation of the node.

Any suggestions? or is it just impossible?

You can - look at the ExpirationPolicy under Eviction Policies in the User Guide. (JBC 2.X only though)

Thanks for the reply but I already looked at it. I guess I could set up different regions, because I think the eviction policy is per region. Otherwise it would be multiple caches.
