You can use the a4j:status component to block the page during the Ajax request. Ilya said about it many times on this forum.

I think this is caused by Seams concurrency handling or my configuration.

This a common problem. How about adding a new component.<rich:pleaseWaitBox id="ajaxLoadingModalBox" timeout="500"> <h:outputText value="Your request is being processed, please wait."/> </rich:pleaseWaitBox >
This could add the correct javascript, <a4j:status>, and set the timeout automatically.
Has anyone successfully used this recipe with Seam?
