xml-rpc and soap

Hi...there is a difference between xml-rpc and soap ? I see that jboss uses axis in the jaxrpc project .....but I know that axis is a soap impementation, while jboss project is called jaxrpc (java api for xml-rpc) .Why?

In this forum we discuss development concerns of our new SOAP stack JBossWS. There is no project called jaxrpc neither does Apache Axis enter the gaim.
