KernelControllerState

Is there a more detailed explanation on KernelControllerState states? (somekind of transition diagram or explanation).

I'm mostly interested in mapping those to the existing 4.x states. Most of them are self describing but I can't figure out the LIFECYCLE state. Is this an extension point?

The 4.x lifecycle has not been done yet since it requires support from
the aop integation.
