it was already set to 5.0 in the project settings.
I think I 've to add somewhere the annotations, but I have no idea where and how .
but the ejb3-persistence.jar is in the build path, so the classfiles are there. that's why he doesn't report any errors form the auto-generated session-beans with the @stateless or @statefull tag.
eclipse just don't show this pop-up window with the annotation if I write a @ -
3. Re: eclipse Jboss IDE + ejb3.0 --> annotation pop-up window
maxandersen Nov 4, 2005 8:06 AM (in response to redpoint7)can't say since it works here ;)
can you complete on the generated @Stateless, e.g. @State ? -

no auto-completion doesn't work there too
if I create for example a new bean and write @Entity above it, it is red underlined. If I add manually "import javax.persistence.Entity;" the compiler dosen't complain anymore.
I use this bundle:
JBossIDE-1.5RC1-Bundle-linux-gtk.tar.gz
as a server: jboss-4.0.3SP1
but I've tried it on another eclipse 3.1 version, where I installed everything over the update-process and it is the same ...
if I create a new EJB 3.0 Project, he adds:
- JBoss EJB3 Libs [JBoss 4]
- JBossAOP 1.3
and the JRE 1.5.0_05 -
5. Re: eclipse Jboss IDE + ejb3.0 --> annotation pop-up window
maxandersen Nov 4, 2005 8:31 AM (in response to redpoint7)and you are using eclipse 3.1 right ? previous versions had less than ok code completion.

yes
in the bundle i've mentioned above eclipse 3.1.0 is used -
7. Re: eclipse Jboss IDE + ejb3.0 --> annotation pop-up window
maxandersen Nov 4, 2005 8:48 AM (in response to redpoint7)can't help you more then.
if you are using eclipse 3.1, have java 1.5/5 compiler enabled and point to a jdk 1.5 runtime library then it should work.
Try and ask around on the eclipse.jdt newsgroup - maybe there is something else that needs doing. -
8. Re: eclipse Jboss IDE + ejb3.0 --> annotation pop-up window
redpoint7 Nov 4, 2005 9:46 AM (in response to redpoint7)one last question:
if I extract the JBossIDE-1.5RC1-Bundle-linux-gtk.tar.gz and work with that eclipse version, all should work? Or does it need additional configuration (cause without any configuration it doesn't work for me)?
I just want to be sure, I didn't miss a configuration step of eclipse for the use with the JBoss IDE -
9. Re: eclipse Jboss IDE + ejb3.0 --> annotation pop-up window
maxandersen Nov 4, 2005 9:47 AM (in response to redpoint7)annotation completion is an eclipse 3.1 thing - not dependent on jbosside to work.

sagaman Nov 6, 2005 2:59 AM (in response to redpoint7)I had the same problem,passed after install APT plugin.you can get it here:

but,i find it only correctly run with eclipse verion 3.2M2! -
11. Re: eclipse Jboss IDE + ejb3.0 --> annotation pop-up window
stemeyda Nov 22, 2005 8:45 AM (in response to redpoint7)I had problems getting this to work too. The only way I could get it to work is (once all the correct libraries are added) hit @ and the first letter of the annotation and then hit Control-Space. I believe the other shortcut was Control-M that will automatically do the imports. Still a pain in the Wazoo. I finally gave up and went to Intellij. I am just not familar enough with the 50+ jar files to know where each annotation is. Why isn't there a jboss-ide plug-in for intellij? The only thing I am interested in is the debugging support.

12. Re: eclipse Jboss IDE + ejb3.0 --> annotation pop-up window
maxandersen Nov 22, 2005 9:03 AM (in response to redpoint7)what is the difference between adding jars for classes and adding jars for annotations ? You need to know which framework you are actually using.
regarding intellij plugins - feel free to go contribute one; there is just too many differences between all the different IDE's for us to write/add the functionallity added to all IDE's at the same time. -

Q : Code Completion is not working for templates. I press CTRL+Space and nothing shows up .
A : To access code completion, even for a template, you have to type an @ character and then press CTRL+Space. That's because templates are a set of tags and it begins by a @ character. Also make sure you are within a Javadoc comment (starting with /**).
Hope this helps,
