jonlee Nov 26, 2003 9:26 PM (in response to rashid11)Have you tried a relative path? And I'm not sure of your current location - you need to check that you are where you think you should be. Is the root location from the JAR or from the EAR?

rashid11 Nov 27, 2003 12:59 PM (in response to rashid11)It is a port of an existing app (runs under IPlanet AS 6). Ideally I don't want to touch the code. Simply modifying the descriptors should, at least in theory,
be sufficient.
I don't like where the properties file resides presently - right in the root of WAR. I am not sure but it might make it available to Web browsers by simply pointing to proper URL ... not a good idea.
I think the properties file should go under "/classes" directory in the WAR and then it will be available under the /APP_NAME/WAR_NAME/PROPERTIES_FILE_NAME Will try it next week. -

rashid11 Dec 3, 2003 1:16 PM (in response to rashid11)Can some1 tell me if it should work like this:
properties.load( (InputStream) getClass().getResourceAsStream(
"/insightApp/insight/insight.properties"));
Assuming there is an application called insightApp
with nested WAR, Web application name: insight .
The insight.properties lives under /WEB-INF/classes/
in the WAR file.
It doesn't work presently, no matter what I try .
