Hi,

I am trying to install mod_cluster on jboss-eap-5.0 and i have httpd version 2.2.9 installed. I downloaded mod_cluster-1.0.0.CR2-linux2-x64-ssl.tar.gz and mod-cluster-1.0.0.CR2-bin.tar.gz ran through the install steps below.

I am getting the following error when trying to start jvm:

Deployment "WebServer" is in error due to the following reason(s): java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unable to locate delegate bean ModClusterService; listener is nonfunctional

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Seems there's a step missing in the quick start guide. I'll fix that.

In summary, you need to edit the config file in:
$JBOSS_HOME/server//deploy/jbossweb.sar/META-INF/jboss-beans.xml
... and add a dependency as described here:
http://www.jboss.org/mod_cluster/java/config.html#as

This ensures that the ModClusterService bean will start before (and shutdown after) the WebServer bean.

FYI, a feature request has already been submitted to eliminate the need to add this dependency manually:

After making the change to the jboss-bean.xml, I tried to start the server again but now it is getting the following error in a loop:

11:23:32,028 ERROR [DefaultMCMPHandler] Error [null: null: {4}] sending command INFO to proxy IP_ADDRESS:80, configuration will be reset

Any ideas?

I also noticed that i am getting the following errors in my http error_log:

In the VirtualHost (or in the main httpd server) you need to add an Allow for your subnet, something like:

 <Directory /bla>
 Order deny,allow
 Deny from all
 Allow from 10.33.144.
 </Directory>
