I'm about to deploy an application using JBoss-2.4.0_Tomcat-3.2.3 with CORBA, on Windows 2000. The application is a simple servlet that connects to an Oracle database using the ORBACUS Java ORB 4.1.0. On the server side Oracle is served using OmniORB C++.
What I experience disturbingly often is that the request hangs, and when I in the JBoss console executes Ctrl-C, the request is served.
I have used the exact same solution to an Interbase server, and this works without any problems.
The main difference between these two applications (the same JBoss/Tomcat server is used for both) is that Interbase is installed on the same machine as JBoss, whereas Oracle recides on its own Windows NT 4 machine.

Rolf
