1. Re: How to test the setup "Apache 1.3.23 + Tomcat4.01 + JBos
lasterra Feb 28, 2002 3:55 PM (in response to wilsonmak)you can test it if you put apache in another port else 8080, for example the 80.
If your conf is ok, http://10.0.1.x/AppName should go.

wilsonmak Feb 28, 2002 11:03 PM (in response to wilsonmak)Enrique,
Thanks for you info, when connnecting to port "80", it just works for the static page, like html; but won't work for any application written on jsp/servlet/ejb. I suspect that the ajp13 protocol is not installed properly (mod_jk.so), but I am sure it's turned "ON" and listening on port "8009". Do you know what goes wrong?
thanks,

lasterra Mar 1, 2002 11:54 AM (in response to wilsonmak)Hi Wilson,
When you start apache, Does the console say mod_jk1.1.0 is running???
If don't the problem is on the apache side.
When you start jboss+tomcat, Do you see mod_jk logs logs lisening to port 8009???
If don't the problem is on the jboss side. Check jboss.jcml file.
Another problem could be the workers.properties file that should be on CATALINA_HOME/conf or in the httpd.conf file of Apache.
By the way look at this thread, i think that with this info you should run Jboss+catalina+apache

admiyo Mar 5, 2002 10:27 PM (in response to wilsonmak)Deploy as a web archive separate from the ejbs (.war vs .ear/.jar)
Even with vanilla tomcat, you want to copy all of your files into the webapps directroy when you make a JSP change, because of the dependency checking between files (if using static includes, haven't tried it with dynamic includes of 4). If you are doing a lot of html stuff, it is easier to work with the plain html files. If you are doing more servlet stuff, it is betytwer to deploy a .war -
