Why doesn't Jetty recompile JSPs during hot re-deployment?

When I remove my .ear and redeploy a new version into JBoss 3, Jetty does not recompile the new/changed jsp pages. Anyone know why that is? Is this a configuration param that needs to be set somewhere?

My short term solution is to delete the Jetty temp directory and then redeploy, but it's getting old.

This is a problem with jasper. I reported this to apache.
The real problem is Sun's file: url handler.

Apparently this works with jdk1.4, but I haven't
tried it.
