1. Re: Need to change the port that jetty uses
jules_gosnell Apr 8, 2002 4:09 PM (in response to rgjawanda)Everything is in jetty-plugin.sar/META-INF/jboss-service.xml
jetty-plugin.sar being a jarfile.
I know this makes it awkward to edit - it will be moved out in the final release - think of this as a development configuration.

jules_gosnell Apr 16, 2002 4:56 PM (in response to rgjawanda)I've decided to stay with the sar and not finally ship it unwrapped. This makes it much easier for the Jetty crew to continue with a release cycle that is orthogonal to JBoss' since we can simply ship you new jetty-plugin.sars if and when.

calvin_cc Jun 21, 2002 3:36 PM (in response to rgjawanda)Just wanted to confirm that in JBoss 3.0 final release, that to change the port for jetty we must manually edit the jboss-service.xml file in jetty-plugin.sar. Is this correct?

You can always use the system property "jetty.port" on jboss 3.0.0 final.
For instance (on a Windows platform), you can update bin\run.bat and change lines:
rem Setup JBoss sepecific properties
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Dprogram.name=%PROGNAME%
to:
rem Setup JBoss sepecific properties
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Dprogram.name=%PROGNAME% -Djetty.port=<your_port>
Jetty should start now on <your_port> -

sradford Jul 11, 2002 12:51 PM (in response to rgjawanda)Does adding the -Djetty.port=80 actually work?
On my linux box it doesn't. It upacks the webapp to a temporary directory with an 80 in it (instead of 8080) but still is listening on 8080.
