Jetty JSP Compile Problem
sradford Jul 5, 2002 7:07 AMPlatform: Linux and Windows 2000
JBoss: 3.0.1RC1 with Jetty
I have a simple JSP which when it is being compile produces the following error:
HTTP ERROR: 500 Unable to compile class for JSP C:\DOCUME~1\sradford\LOCALS~1\Temp\Jetty__8080___survey\Login\survey$jsp.java:76: Incompatible type for method. Explicit cast needed to convert java.lang.Throwable to java.lang.Exception. if (pageContext != null) pageContext.handlePageException(t); ^ 1 error
The Java source being generated for the problem JSP is (the offending line being a few lines from the end):
package org.apache.jsp;
import javax.servlet.*;
import javax.servlet.http.*;
import javax.servlet.jsp.*;
import org.apache.jasper.runtime.*;
public class survey$jsp extends HttpJspBase {
static {
}
public survey$jsp( ) {
}
private static boolean _jspx_inited = false;
public final void _jspx_init() throws org.apache.jasper.runtime.JspException {
}
public void _jspService(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
throws java.io.IOException, ServletException {
JspFactory _jspxFactory = null;
PageContext pageContext = null;
HttpSession session = null;
ServletContext application = null;
ServletConfig config = null;
JspWriter out = null;
Object page = this;
String _value = null;
try {
if (_jspx_inited == false) {
synchronized (this) {
if (_jspx_inited == false) {
_jspx_init();
_jspx_inited = true;
}
}
}
_jspxFactory = JspFactory.getDefaultFactory();
response.setContentType("text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1");
pageContext = _jspxFactory.getPageContext(this, request, response,
"../Error/error.jsp", true, 8192, true);
application = pageContext.getServletContext();
config = pageContext.getServletConfig();
session = pageContext.getSession();
out = pageContext.getOut();
// HTML // begin [file="/Login/survey.jsp";from=(0,46);to=(1,0)]
out.write("\r\n");
// end
// begin [file="/Login/survey.jsp";from=(1,2);to=(3,0)]
String surveyId = request.getParameter("survey_id");
// end
// HTML // begin [file="/Login/survey.jsp";from=(3,2);to=(10,37)]
out.write("\r\n\r\n \r\n\t<frameset rows=\"0,*,0\" frameborder=\"0\" border=\"0\" framespacing=\"0\">\r\n\t\t<frame scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" src=\"./blank.htm\">\r\n\t\t<frameset rows=\"0,*,0\" frameborder=\"0\" border=\"0\" framespacing=\"0\">\r\n\t\t\t<frame scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" src=\"./blank.htm\">\r\n\t\t\t<frame src=\"./index.jsp?survey_id=");
// end
// begin [file="/Login/survey.jsp";from=(10,40);to=(10,50)]
out.print( surveyId );
// end
// HTML // begin [file="/Login/survey.jsp";from=(10,52);to=(19,0)]
out.write("\" scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\">\r\n\t\t\t<frame scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" src=\"./blank.htm\">\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t<frame scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" src=\"./blank.htm\">\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n");
// end
} catch (Throwable t) {
if (out != null && out.getBufferSize() != 0)
out.clearBuffer();
if (pageContext != null) pageContext.handlePageException(t);
} finally {
if (_jspxFactory != null) _jspxFactory.releasePageContext(pageContext);
}
}
}
Is this a bug? Or am I somehow causing it?

Sean
