1. Re: How to run JSP in JBoss3.0/Tomcat4.0.3
romeriz Jul 24, 2002 7:43 AM (in response to manashp)If you are using a .war you can just copy it to {JBOSS_HOME}/server/default/deploy and let JBoss sort it all out for you.

manashp Jul 24, 2002 8:22 AM (in response to manashp)Thanks Romeriz,
How do I enable the Tomcat services in JBoss? So that I can put the .jsp files in the appropriate folder and see it through the browser.
Warm Regards,

romeriz Jul 24, 2002 8:46 AM (in response to manashp)Manash,
If you have downloaded the jboss+tomcat archive they are already enabled. You copy the .war file to the deploy directory and JBoss/tomcat will extract and process it.
To access the pages from a web browser you would use http://localhost:8080/<web context>/<page filename> if you have a default installation.

5. Re: How to run JSP in JBoss3.0/Tomcat4.0.3
joelvogt Jul 25, 2002 5:35 AM (in response to manashp)yes, make a directory foo.war (named foo.war)
in jboss/deploy and then put your jsp in here.
This will let you do localhost:8080/foo/blah.jsp -

7. Re: How to run JSP in JBoss3.0/Tomcat4.0.3
ehansen Jul 25, 2002 1:43 PM (in response to manashp)I also could not get JBoss to recognize my war file until I added a jboss-web.xml file to the WEB-INF directory.
I copied the jboss-web.xml file from the jsp-examples war file that came with the webtest.ear file (part of JBoss-Tomcat download from source-forge - which is different than the jboss.org download). That jboss-web.xml has only two lines in it.
<jboss-web>
</jboss-web>
Once I did that, and dropped my war file into the servlet\default\deploy directory, jboss hot-deployed it without error. But when I try to access a page, I'm getting an servet error indicating it couldn't find a required .tld file.
So... that's where I am in the process. My war file deploys and runs without problems with Tomcat 4.0.x standalone. But getting it to run inside JBoss has been (and still is) frustrating me.
I didn't see anything in the JBoss book (albeit, written for Jboss 2.x) that indicates that the war for Jboss be packaged differently. By the way, I'm using NetBeans to create the war file.

10. Re: How to run JSP in JBoss3.0/Tomcat4.0.3
torreblanca Aug 16, 2002 3:44 PM (in response to manashp)Gustavo,
1. Create WAR file with jsp file.
2. Create EAR file with WAR file and application.xml.
In application.xml define <web-uri> and <context-root>.
3. Copy the EAR file in %JBOSS_HOME%\server\default\deploy.
4. Run JBoss_Tomcat.
4. Test the jsp.
http://[IP Address Server]:8080/uno/uno.jsp
I send you in attachment a jsp example. (uno.ear). Try it.
Regards
Javier
