JBOSS and tomcat4 on the same JVM

Hi,
I'm running JBOSS2.4.4 and tomcat 4.0.4 on the same JVM.
I'm trying to replace the defualt JAXP impelmentation from crimson to xerces. When I replace the parser tomcat doesn't start and xml parsing exception thrown by jboss.
