It seems that jetty does not handle the login correctly if the
<realm-name>My Realm or something like that </realm-name>
is missing from the web.xml file when defining security.
(I got null-pointer errors when using FORM based security and forgetting realm-name, when using BASIC it gave an error message about realm-name missing.)
The realm-name is optional is the web.xml so I think this is a bug in jetty.
