Why do Jboss-Jetty releases lag behind

    nick2002

Why do Jboss-Jetty combined releases lag behind the Jboss-catalina combined releases?

eg. at present, on the 2.4.x branch, we have jboss 2.4.9, jboss-catalina is on 2.4.9, but Jboss-jetty is on 2.4.7

Are the Jetty crew more conservative in taking releases?

It is simply a matter of trying to spend my time on areas where I will get maximum return for investment.

If you look at the download numbers on SourceForge you will see that 2.4.9 based d/ls number around 500. 3.x-based d/ls number in the 10s, if not 100s of thousands.

I am spending all my time on 3.x at the moment. The Jetty integration in this is up-to-the-minute. Tomcat 4.1 is still not integrated.

If you really need a 2.4.9/Jetty build you have a few options :

          - try dropping the 2.4.7 Jetty component into a 2.4.9 release. I don't see why this shouldn't work
          - wait for me to get round to it - I will try to find the time soon.
          - Take out a JBG support contract - in which case you will get it immediately.
          - Volunteer to maintain this branch - I will give you all the help you need.

          Hope that helps,

          Jules
