Can someone from the jboss team comment on
whether or not a war file which contains a jar file
in its WEB-INF/lib directory should work or not.

The very same war file works perfectly when
deployed in standalone tomcat.

There are many posts that indicate this problem.

yes it should and does work. Just make sure you don't have any conflicts with any other similar jars in other locations or on your classpath
