1. Re: Precompiled JSP slower than Postcompiled JSP
evantoliopoulos Mar 19, 2003 1:23 AM (in response to evantoliopoulos)i have just upgraded to JBoss3.2.0RC3 and am also using the newer jasper for precompilation.
to borrow a phrase used by someone else elsewhere in these forum pages, it now runs like a scalded cat!
i cannot really tell if the precompiled is still slower than the postcompiled because, well really, tens or even hundreds of milliseconds mean nothing to me.
cheers,

2. Re: Precompiled JSP slower than Postcompiled JSP
jpierre.p Apr 7, 2003 6:20 PM (in response to evantoliopoulos)Hello,
As I can see, you know how to use pre-compiled JSP.
I’m trying to do this and currently on the middle of the way. I’m able to produce the java and class files with the jspc Ant task, but not the servlet descriptions. I know that I should add the classes under WEB-INF/classes or putting them in a jar under WEB-INF/lib and add the servlet definitions in web.xml. Have I anything else to do for having jetty using the pre-compiled JPSs ? Can you tell me about the procedure or give a link on documentation ? Are the servlet definitions mandatory even if the jsp are never called directly, but always through requestDispatcher.forward(…) as with Struts ?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Jean-Pierre -

iramesh Apr 9, 2003 9:44 AM (in response to evantoliopoulos)Hi Jean-Pierre,
Please check out the jboss-jetty FAQ site. I have pasted the link below. Once there, search for "JSP Precompilation". Hope this helps.
