new session getting created everytime on invoking JSP

when i invoke a JSP from my application, previous session is getting invalidated and a new session is created.i want to carry on the previous session.

This problem i am facing when i deploy my application in JBOSS, in WEBLOGIC it works fine.

i am new to JBOSS, so please let me know do i need to make any chages to any of the deployment descriptors of JBOSS ..

i am using JBOSS 3.2.5. actullay JSP is invoked from a XSL through java script(window.open()).And JSP has an applet embedded in it which is used to upload and downloading the the wav files.
