ilya_shaikovsky Apr 2, 2007 1:18 PM (in response to snod0g)Look for the documentation on ui:repeat for facelets and a4j:repeat from Ajax4jsf

4. Re: what if your number of text input fields is dynamic?
snod0g Apr 3, 2007 12:46 PM (in response to snod0g)i am using jboss 4.0.5 (tomcat 5.5) with JSF 1.1 reference implementation.
can i use facelets with this setup? they recommend using JSF RI 1.2 in the readme but i wonder what will happen if I use 1.1? I don't think I can use JSF 1.2 in Jboss 4.0.5 because tomcat 5.5 doesn support java servlet 2.5 and jsp 2.1 as required by jsf 1.2: https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net/nonav/rlnotes/1.2_04/releasenotes.html -
5. Re: what if your number of text input fields is dynamic?
sergeysmirnov Apr 3, 2007 2:18 PM (in response to snod0g)facelets do not work with JSP at all. So, if you use facelets, supporting java servlet 2.5 and jsp 2.1 is not required.
Ask for right configuration on jboss seam forum. -
6. Re: what if your number of text input fields is dynamic?
dustismo Apr 3, 2007 7:44 PM (in response to snod0g)If I understand your question, you can back the text inputs to a map in the backing bean:
bean.java... private HashMap<String,String> map = new HashMap<String,String>(); public HashMap getMap() { ... } public void setMap(HashMap) { ... } ..
so then you input fields will be like:<h:inputText value="#{bean.map[someIndex]}" />
Anyway, I recommend checking out seam with facelets rather then jsp
hope that helps,
Dustin
