Security with JBoss and Tomcat

I am developing an application using Tomcat and JBoss. I am interested in configuring Tomcat to use the JBoss security architecture however, I am not running Tomcat and JBoss in the 'bundled' way, they are on seperate machines. Is this possible ? thanks

You would have to write your own custom realm and the default integration does not work unless tomcat is bundled with JBoss.
