dmitry_ame Aug 2, 2002 10:34 AM (in response to ankr)Sorry if the message does not belong here, but still hoping that the forum supposed to make it easy for people to help each other. Any ways, I've read the spec, researched the forums on the subject,
but the problem still exists. If anybody got it to work please HELP!!!!
I'm almost certain that it would help to simply look at working example of login-config.xml, jboss-service.xml, -service.xml, web.xml, jboss-web.xml (no other silly questions asked). So if anybody thinks that thay've got it to work, please attach the examples here!!!
Thanks! -

6. Re: Basic authentication with 3.0/Jetty
ganton516 Nov 23, 2002 6:18 PM (in response to ankr)Just a quick thing, that burned me on this for a while, make sure that your <url-pattern> in your web.xml application deployment descriptor is right.
Most examples (assuming for instance a war called public.war) use the following:
<url-pattern>/public/*</url-pattern>
This would require that the requested URL actually be
/public/public/index.jsp
What most expect is /public/index.jsp, so you use:
<url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
NOTE: The beginning '/' is REQUIRED for it to work right.
Hope this helps.

ganton516 Nov 24, 2002 12:10 AM (in response to ankr)Oh, and BTW:
To Ytzel:
The objective here is to help people learn, not to discourage them by ranting about ability, or method.
Please, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it @ all.

P.S. Where is your JBOSS/Jetty implementation @, I'd LOVE to have a l00k @ it.
