cathie_le Oct 4, 2004 11:19 AM (in response to cathie_le)Hi Scott,
I try to find session directory under work, but I am not able to find it. I using jboss-3.2.5 right now. I deploy the ear file under the default server.
Can you tell me exact location of session directory ?
Thanks.

3. Re: how to set user session to null after restart the server
starksm64 Oct 4, 2004 1:40 PM (in response to cathie_le)Its under the work/jboss.web/engine-name/war-context directory. You can just remove the entire work directory to clear all persisted sessions. Otherwise, find the SESSIONS.ser file and remove it for the web app(s) in question. For the jmx-console.war, the default location would be:
[starksm@banshee9100 testsuite]$ ls server/default/work/jboss.web/localhost/jmx-console SESSIONS.ser tldCache.ser

cathie_le Oct 4, 2004 6:25 PM (in response to cathie_le)Hi Scott,
Do you know how to delete these folder by set the command line in the run.bat or shutdown.bat file, so each time shutdown the server, I don't need to manually delete these folders.
Thank a lot.

parramorej Oct 5, 2004 9:12 AM (in response to cathie_le)This is interesting... I have the opposite problem from my point of view: user sessions are not persisted upon JBoss shutdown/startup for a web application --- how does one ensure that that happens?

ikarpov Apr 13, 2005 10:35 AM (in response to cathie_le)I was just browsing through these posts - if you are still looking for how to do this, check out http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=50847: basically, you need to create a file called context.xml in your WEB-INF directory and put the following XML in that file:
<Context> <Manager className="org.apache.catalina.session.StandardManager" pathname=""> </Manager> </Context>
This has worked for us in 4.0.1sp1
