2. Re: JBoss Negotiation 2.0.3.GA Released
eduardo_thp Feb 3, 2009 11:29 PM (in response to dlofthouse)Hi guys,
good work !!!!
What's the compatibility with JBoss 4.0.5 ?
I'm testing the Beta1 release under JBoss 4.0.5 and saw a problem because the jboss log4j-boot.jar is incompatible with Logger.trace() that is being used in the negotiation code...
Tried finding something related to it in the forum but didn't find, so I'm writing here !
Many Thanks !

dlofthouse Feb 4, 2009 7:29 AM (in response to dlofthouse)Hi Edwardo,
Yes JBoss Negotiation does require JBoss 4.2.x or JBoss 5.0.x, these versions use a later version of Log4j that provides the trace() method without needing to use the JBoss Logger.
I will have a look for the next release to see if the logging can be made compatible with JBoss 4.0.5.GA but that is not really one of the target AS versions. -
4. Re: JBoss Negotiation 2.0.3.GA Released
eduardo_thp Feb 4, 2009 11:12 AM (in response to dlofthouse)Thanks very much Darran,
I just needed to be sure !
I had to replace log.trace for log.debug, than I ran without problems on 4.0.5.
But it was version Beta... I didn't try with the new version and I saw that the new one has much more classes !!!
The ideal would be to have an updated version of log4j-boot.jar for JBoss 4.0.5... supporting the Logger.trace method....
Anyway, thanks very much !!!
I'll have a look and check what's the best option for me !!! -
5. Re: JBoss Negotiation 2.0.3.GA Released
david.wade Feb 12, 2009 8:18 PM (in response to dlofthouse)Am trying it on JBoss 5 and its nearly working... Main issue we had was a reverse lookup of IP of our KDC resulted in a different server name...
Using the negotiation toolkit, basic negotiation and security domain tests work, but the secured test results in a 401 page.
I have server logs and config but is this the right place to post questions and if not where should they go ? -

dlofthouse Feb 16, 2009 10:17 AM (in response to dlofthouse)David,
This is the right forum for your questions although I would suggest a new thread to track your specific problems.
Do you have an actual error being logged during the failed negotiation? -

jar349 May 30, 2012 12:28 PM (in response to dlofthouse)Darran, Anil, etc,
The download page for PicketBox is completely empty for me. I see a link to the GPL and an advertisement. No downloads are available. I need to download the jboss negotiation stuff.
Know what's going on?
