schedule message delivery

Is it possible to schedule the delivery of a message when it is posted to the queue, so that in only accessible for gathering after the scheduled time ?

No, it's not part of the JMS spec. The source code is available so you could add that feature (In a JBossMQ specific way). Send in a patch if you do add the feature.
