1. Re: Is a TimerTask in MDB possible.
joelvogt Aug 7, 2002 7:57 PM (in response to enigma69)I would move this type out of thing out of an mdb. Leave him/her just for receiving messages and let another object take care or resending.

The problem with starting a Timer Task in a MDB you would loose when the server goes down. So I would save the info in a DB and use the JBoss Scheduler to resend them afterwards.

enigma69 Aug 9, 2002 3:40 AM (in response to enigma69)I'm not a JBoss pro, but I got the 2.4.4 book, and I looked up the scheduler.... is it the same as the timer MBean discribed in the online documentation??

schaefera Aug 9, 2002 8:24 AM (in response to enigma69)Hi
The Timer MBean is part of the JMX Agent Service (JMX specification). The Scheduler MBean is a JBoss JMX MBean using the TimerMBean to have a more convenient way to register schedules and get their notification and call the appropriate target method.
