MDB - Subscribe to different server

i have a simple question and hope that somebody can answer it:
Suppose we have n servers running on different machines, but they are not clustered. Now, can a message driven bean on any of that servers subsribe to a topic or queue that was created on another server? If the answer is yes, where can I specify things like the hostname, the destination name and such? Any hint would be very helpful.
Please don´t give advices like "use a cluster", because the customer does not want a cluster, but rather several instances of application servers running on different machines (do not ask why :). Still I´d love to use JBoss for that project.

hi,
it seems it is for send message to a remote queue/topic. does it also apply to subscribe to remote topic ?
