2. Re: JBosses on windows & unix can't talk
nisroc Feb 27, 2003 12:09 PM (in response to nisroc)Thanks, I saw that thread before I posted mine, but it didn't apply to my problem. I'm using the same JVM, classes, etc. on both sides.
Anyone else have any ideas?
Have other people had JBoss and JMS work "out of the box" across both environments?

3. Re: JBosses on windows & unix can't talk
nisroc Feb 27, 2003 4:07 PM (in response to nisroc)Now I've obtained two identical redhat 8.0 boxes and tried having them talk to each other and it still fails. But this time I actually get an exception:
JNDI lookup failed: javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: 127.0.0.1; nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused]
Connection problem: javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: 127.0.0.1; nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused]
I'm confused by that localhost ip, since this is the output of a client trying to talk to a remote jboss.
Anyway, I'm going to broaden my search in the forum for remote jboss problems in general, but if this rings a bell with anyone, give me a shout. Thanks.

nisroc Feb 27, 2003 4:26 PM (in response to nisroc)Yay! I was having the /etc/hosts problem. Somehow when I was searching for my problem I missed that topic.
