is it possible to configure two different queues which stores the messages in different locations?

perhaps one queue stores messages to disk and the other in a database (e.g. oracle)?

No that is not possible.

You would have to create two jbossmq
instances,
i.e. copy jbossmq-service.xml
change the mbean names, the ports and
directory names/db tables.
